Standard Finishing Systems received the 2007 Gegenheimer Corporate Award for industry service from NPES, the Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing, and Converting Technologies, on Nov. 4 at the NPES 2007 Annual Conference in San Diego.

"I'm pleased to accept this prestigious award on behalf of all Standard employees," said David Reny, managing director, Standard Finishing Systems. "It's a real compliment to the dedication and service of our entire organization."

Named in honor of former Baldwin Technology Co. Chairman Harold W. Gegenheimer, the annual award recognizes one company and one individual that have demonstrated leadership and commitment through participation in NPES, and in industry activities, civic leadership, technical innovation, and sound management practices.

"Standard has been a beacon within NPES, and an industry leader for many years," according to NPES President Ralph Nappi. "We congratulate the company on this well-deserved honor, and express our thanks for their ongoing contributions to benefit our industry."

Marvin Makofsky, right, president of Conformer Expansion Products Inc., Great Neck, N.Y., received his third consecutive Grand Award for envelopes in the PEAK Awards, sponsored by the Print Services and Distribution Association in Las Vegas last month. The winning product was a Conformer Paperboard Envelope produced for the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
