Cathedral Corp., Rome, N.Y., printed a half-million postcards bound for U.S. troops serving overseas. The business communications provider produced them for Xerox Corp.'s "Let's Say Thanks" program.

The postcards were designed by children ages 6–14 from across the country. Of the 500,000 blank postcards printed by Cathedral, 130,000 were used around the Memorial Day holiday in San Diego at the largest "Let's Say Thanks" card drive. The remainder will be used at various local and regional events for the remainder of the year. More than 10.7 million people have sent well-wishes to troops around the globe through www.letssaythanks.com, and at local card drives.

"The children's artwork coming off the production press is uplifting and sure to inspire the troops," said Larry Beasley, vice president of sales and marketing, Cathedral.

"We are proud to do our part to support the men and women of the armed services."

Cathedral printed the postcards on a Xerox iGen3 digital press, while military support organization Give2TheTroops includes the postcards in care packages sent to deployed U.S. forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere around the world.

Founded in 1916 as a manufacturer of paperboard products, Cathedral delivers personalized financial communication programs, direct-mail campaigns, and essential documents to more than 5,000 business and non-profit organizations nationwide. The privately held, $20 million company is headquartered in a 55,000-sq.-ft. facility in the former Griffiss Air Force Base commissary. Cathedral employs approximately 175 people at its locations in Rome and Buffalo, N.Y., and Lincoln, R.I.
