Prints for Haiti was the inspiration of Greg Lawler, an employee at Brooks Institute of Photography, who decided that he wanted to do more in the aftermath of the devastating Haiti earthquake than feel sad. Lawler approached various photographers about donating images, secured product fulfillment from Specialty Color Services, and built the web site.
At www.printsforhaiti.com, a special collection of images from a talented group of photographers is offered at a base price of $100, and to make donating accessible on any budget, discount codes are provided. After $10 per print is subtracted toward production and shipping, all remaining funds are donated 50/50 to the American Red Cross and Direct Relief International. Volunteers will provide the labor to pack and ship the orders. Recipients will receive the finest quality silver halide Chromira prints on archival paper, with an estimated lifespan of 100 years or more.
